The Levinsky Market

The Levinsky Market, the Telavivian spice's paradise

Located a few steps from the Alma Hotel and Lounge, the Levinsky Market locally called Shuk Levinsky (market in hebrew), is some kind of gourmet’s paradise. With a wide range of exotic spices, nuts, dried fruits, and international cuisine, the market is the most popular shopping and eating spot for locals with a passion for food, and the best place for you to discover and feel the local vibe!

Established during the 20s by Greek immigrants followed by Turks, initially, a bunch of spices shops and eateries were opened up but the market extended and turned to be what it is today: five-block stretch inviting us to a culinary trip across the middle east.

In just a few blocks, you can find your way through the market’s culinary history while eating some fresh meals, sipping Ouzo or buying some fresh spices to bring back to the kitchen.

Turkish delights are easy to be found on Levinsky Street at Yom Tov Delicatessen, with some of the most famous Burekas brought to the city by a Turkish family, preparing Halva as well, a sweet sesame confection. While wandering around, take a right on Zvulun Street, you will get to some Persian spice kiosks where in addition to special dishes, nuts, and grains, and some delicious rose water you can try and buy Persian ingredients to cook meals to perfection! Don’t miss the best Instagram spot of the city; walk

towards the famous car always parked on Levinsky serving fresh drinks!
The Shuk is packed with handmade gourmet items including dried fruits, spice blends for cooking, dried mango, pistachio, tea blends, homemade roasted nuts, Middle Eastern spices, rice mixes, olives, Saffron etc.

Filled with cuisine from all around, it is not surprising that the best Chefs and Bartenders of Tel Aviv are finding their inspiration across the Shuk providing their kitchens & bars with the finest ingredients to create the most delicious recipes & cocktails!

Travel through space and time while getting a sip from the Madagascar cocktail; fresh cocoa beans, vanilla, some toffee tea and a touch of Ylang Ylang!
